I bet you see ads and titles like this everyday all around you – from TV commercials, magazines, internet, you name it… I also believe you don’t trust them, because you think they are fake (especially if you’ve tried any, unsuccessfully, in the past)… Most probably you are right, because there aren’t many sensible things you can do to lose weight in 7 days, but yet …
Do you know why I am sure they work?
Because I tried all 3 tips last week – and they worked. I lost 4 pounds and dropped one size in clothes in less than 7 days. Here’s how:
I decided to detox my body very early this year, so I started the 1 week detox diet. I love this plan. It’s not the easiest detox plan, but it is quite effective for suppressing appetite and losing weight. It’s harsh, but not impossible to follow.
One of the hardest things is that sugar is forbidden, so I had to drop it from my menu. I barely use sugar on daily basis (I prefer my coffee black), but this time I had to drink my favorite Honey and Cinnamon Drink without the honey… It’s good, quite good, actually even without the honey. Mmmm, freshly crashed cinnamon bark, boiled in water for 15 minutes – delicious… Anyway, let’s continue my story:
I made one cup of Honey and Cinnamon drink every morning for 7 days. And because my 1 week detox diet didn’t allow me to eat anything sweet, I dropped the honey, so basically I drank only cinnamon tea.
1/2 cup in the morning, 1/2 cup in the evening – that was it.
To be honest, there is something I must admit – last Monday morning (when I started the diet) I was so sleepy, that I drank the whole cup of cinnamon tea…Ooops, but then I noticed my appetite was gone all day. To tell you the truth – I had to force myself to eat my detox diet’s dinner, because I didn’t feel like eating at all day.
Besides my curbed appetite, I felt energized like never before when I left for my gym class that same day. So I decided to drink the whole cup of cinnamon tea three times per week (on days, when I have gym classes). Perfect! So far so good, but there was more:
I made this drink every morning with 1 freshly squeezed grapefruit and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. 1 teaspoon of honey should also be added, by like I said before – my 1 week detox diet didn’t allow me to eat anything sweet. Even without the honey this delicious, sour drink worked great as a “quick wake up” – that’s what I call it π The original recipe differences in proportions, but that’s the way I made it last week π
I should say this drink is amazing. It worked for me just the way it is supposed to. I felt my thigh skin smoother and lost 3 cm from my waist. I felt so great in my skin, so I went shopping and surprise – I could fit in jeans one size smaller than before.
That was not easy, in fact following this plan was the hardest thing for me last week. Drinking Honey and Cinnamon drink (without the honey) and Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey Drink (without the honey, again) were the fun part of my last dieting week. The hard thing was to eat the same food all day separated into portions of salt free and fat free meals.
However, I was very determined. Knowing the results I could get (I’m doing it every year), I just pulled myself together and did it. Here I should mention the great support from my husband. I should thank him so much, as he gladly offered to follow, as well.
Day 1 – We both drink fruit juices. That day was great I didn’t feel hungry at all.
Day 2 – Boiled Potatoes – yummy even without salt. It was OK.
Day 3 – Boiled Rice – that was the first day I started to question myself if I’m gonna make it through the end of this week… Boiled rice with lemon or tomato juice – that was not my favorite, but yet I ate it.
Day 4 – Fruits – totally yummy day π After the rice, everything else tasted like a piece of heaven to me.
Day 5 – Boiled Macaroni – the same like boiled rice… Again I started to question myself if I’m gonna make it through the end of this week… Luckily I made it through that day, which was a huge sign for me that I’m gonna make it through the end of the week. The not so yummy meals were over. Hello Vegetables and Meat π
Day 6 – Vegetables
Day 7 – Meat
The last two days of the 1 week detox diet were like a feast for me – cooked vegetables or meat even without salt taste heavenly good compared to boiled rice and macaroni.
If I can do it, then you can do it too. It’s as simple as that.
If you don’t feel like doing the detox diet, then you can try to plan and make your own diet plan. Here are a few general weight loss advices you can keep up in mind:
Do not forget physical activity is very important. In fact I am leaving for my gym classes in a few minutes…
Since I started to exercise regularly, I noticed serious improvement in my problem areas – thighs and waist. So everytime I can I prefer to walk instead of driving my car, I climb stairs instead of using the elevator, etc. You got the idea. More physical activity – healthier you π
